In our experience, the devil is in the smallest of details to make rooms more appealing. Remember you are selling a lifestyle or a dream so things like an open book on the coffee table, a bottle of wine and glasses on an outdoor setting or logs set to burn in a fireplace can help sell this.

From the entry to the driveway, (make sure it’s free of any kids’ toys, the bins are out of sight and the driveway and paths are pressure cleaned), to walking you through the house, (consider well-placed mirrors to make rooms bigger, and don’t forget to clean the floor), our booklet has tips to make every room look its best.

First impressions really do count, so make sure those first impressions are good ones. Tip number 44: A freshly painted front door with polished fittings is a pleasing welcome to the home for buyers. Make sure the doorbell works and all cobwebs have been cleared around the entry, facia and guttering.

If you want to make your bathroom more appealing, check out tip number 81. Replace any dirty or worn shower curtains, clean and repair glass shower screens. Replacing tinted glass with clear can make a room seem much larger. And tip number 84. Clean any mineral deposits around tap wear with vinegar or commercial cleaning.
